    Sick of the usual mundane neighbourhood runs everyday?

    Fret not, here are some alternatives to spice up your everyday runs:

    1) Coney Island

    Situated at Punggol Road End, it is one of the potential exercise idea you and your friends can embark on. You can rent bicycles and go on a cycling expedition with your friends along the park connectors in Coney Island. Not only you can get to explore and enjoy the nature as well as the beautiful scenery, you also get to exercise and keep fit through cycling. It is definitely a good activity to spend your weekend and a good break away from a week of hectic work.

    2) MacRitchie Tree Top Walk

    MacRitchie is located in the central area of Singapore, just off Thomson Road, and is super popular among nature lovers. It could be a better and refreshing alternative as opposed to the everyday neighbourhood run. Upon hiking all the way to the top of the hiking trail, you will be greeted with a spectacular view of the canopy and also the TreeTop walk, which is a 250 meter suspended pathway between the 2 highest points in MacRitchie, Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalan. At the TreeTop Walk's highest point, you'll be 25 meters above the ground - that's up to 7 storeys high! So for all those nature hiking lovers out there, this is a must do to go.

    3) Southern Ridges

    If you detest long distances and/or getting your shoes soiled with mud, then this trail is for you! The Southern Ridges is a 10km long trail connecting a series of hill parks in the southern tip of Singapore. Do not be put off by the distance though, as this trail can also be accessed from various entry points, allowing you to customise your journey to suit your preference and convenience. Furthermore, if you come at around sunset timing, you get to catch the gorgeous sunset view overlooking the canopy from Henderson Waves Bridge. Furthermore, you also get to rest on the bridge and there are a few shelters to keep you in shade.

    4) Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve

    For those wildlife lovers out there, this trail is definitely for you. Along the trail, you get to see various types of wildlife such as crocodiles, monitor lizards or even otter spotting occasionally. It is indeed a nature haven as well as an ideal adventure trail for groups as you get to experience Mother Nature as well as able to see the diversity of the wildlife.

    5) Pulau Ubin

    With just a 10 minutes short boat ride from Singapore, you will reach Pulau Ubin where you will find yourself immersing into the rural, slow paced of living. All you need is just to rent bicycles and you can start exploring this humble land filled with gorgeous forest view. Being surrounded with greenery and tranquility, it will definitely be a rejuvenating experience for you.
